The Tantrum, restored camp hatchet

This hatchet head was delivered to me from Bourneville, in the Paint Creek valley of South Central Ohio. It’s make and origins are unknown. Only the word TEMPERED is stamped in it’s cheek. I am not sure it the red enamel paint is original, or if a previous owner had a sense of humor or just utility in mind when they painted it along the way. It’s rehung on a 14″ hickory handle, and stained black and white to match it’s mood. It’s filed sharp and finished clean.
